What happens when an OBLAKO VPS is not renewed
A server runs for exactly the period you paid for. Here is what happens when that period ends and the renewal invoice is unpaid.
Timeline
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| 7 days before the end | A renewal invoice is created (if Auto-renewal is on) |
| 3 days before | Email Server expires soon |
| When the period ends | The server is stopped, status Suspended, email Server suspended |
| 3 days after the end | The server is deleted together with its disk and IP address |
Unpaid invoices also send a reminder once a day.
Bringing a suspended server back
While the server is Suspended, your data is still there. Pay the renewal invoice in Billing or click Renew in the server card. The server starts again automatically after payment.
Deleted servers cannot be restored
3 days after the end of the period the server is deleted for good. OBLAKO does not keep backups, so store important data outside the server.
How not to miss a renewal
- Keep Auto-renewal on so the invoice appears in advance.
- Pay for 2 or 3 months at once.
- Watch your email: all reminders go to your account address.
